A3 - Processing Conference - 4th CIGR Section VI International Symposium On Food And Bioprocess Technology

Following the successful 1st International Symposium on Bioproducts Processing and Food Safety held in Beijing in October 2004, the 2nd one on Future of Food Engineering in Warsaw in April 2006, and the 3rd one on Food and Agricultural Products: Processing and Innovations in Naples in September 2007, the CIGR Section VI is organizing the 4th Technical Symposium on Food and Bioprocess Technology in Iguassu Falls City (Brazil) on 31 August - 4 September 2008, in conjunction with the 2008 CIGR International Conference - Brazil. Today, the food and bioprocess industry strives to provide a wide variety of products with enhanced shelf-life, functionality and quality attributes, and to develop new technologies in order to meet the demands of people from different cultural and working backgrounds. Despite the success of the industry, public concerns about product safety, nutritional value, and environmental impacts have become overwhelming in recent times. Such concerns accentuate the need for comprehensive scientific research and innovations to improve both the effectiveness and efficiency of food and agricultural processes. This Symposium is therefore intended for the participants to communicate their latest research results in the subject area to their international peers, to stimulate meaningful debate, and to enable in-depth technical discussions, thus allowing significant exchange of new and exciting findings of research, and generating good ideas for further research. As the last three symposiums, selected papers presented at this Symposium will be published in a special issue of Food and Bioprocess Technology: an International Journal published by Springer.
