3rd Brazilian Congress of TT - Trenchless Technology
1st No-Dig Latin-American Edition

MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
The balance of the Third Brazilian Congress of TT - Trenchless Technologies and First No-Dig - Latin American Edition was extremely positive. Visitors, delegates and guests together account for 750 people, who walked through the aisles of the Hotel Transamerica Convention Center in São Paulo during the period of 13 to 15 of February, in the city of São Paulo, Brazil. Among the participants, there were representatives from 18 Brazilian states and 15 different countries.
The attractive forecast of investments in the sector for the year of 2008 - 250 million reals for gas network installation and 150 million reals for sanitation works - called the attention of not only specialized media but also national mass media such as ?Valor Econômico?, newspaper from São Paulo, and ?Jornal Nacional?, daily news show from ?Rede Globo? TV Broadcast.
The reduction of disturbances caused to drivers and pedestrians as well as the reduction of the time required to conclude the works, when compared to conventional open trench systems, were also highlighted by the media.
During the congress, companies, which perform infrastructure works by means of trenchless methods for ten years in Brazil, had the opportunity of participating in debates about technical and social issues regarding this matter, in addition to learning about products and services offered by the 40 exhibiting companies taking part in the trade show carried out simultaneously to the event.
ABRATT - Brazilian Association of Trenchless Technology - thanks the participation of all of those who made this event a landmark, which, certainly, will open paths to new businesses and investments in the sector, besides preparing the land so that the country can host the world event foreseen to 2011.
