We are pleased to announce that SABESP, the Water and Sanitation Company of the State of São Paulo, Brazil will be the organizer of the IWA Water Loss Conference that will be held in São Paulo from the 6th to the 9th of June 2010.
This conference has become a benchmark for water loss professionals worldwide.
Water Loss 2010 is intended to present and discuss the latest developments, strategies, techniques and applications of international best practice in all aspects of water loss assessment and control.
The conference is the sixth event in a series of IWA water loss reduction specialty conferences. The fifth event was in Cape Town, South Africa in May 2009 where more than 140 technical papers were presented to 450 participants from 43 countries.
Water Loss 2010 is being brought to São Paulo in order to address the complexity of assessing and reducing water loss in large urban centers that suffer from water scarcity and to improve the IWA relationship with Brazilian and Latin American Companies operating in the Water Sector.
We look forward to meeting you at the conference
Welcome to the Water Loss 2010 Conference in São Paulo !
The preparation work that has gone into making this conference a reality has taken two years of dedication by many people. The joint conference chairs wish to congratulate everyone involved in organisation and sponsorship.
The growing sense of urgency in the world to manage dwindling water supplies in a better way than in the past is demonstrated by the large number of delegates attracted to this conference, making it the number one international event on water losses.
The International Water Association, through the Water Loss Task Force, is playing a major role in assisting Water Utilities around the world to deal effectively with the serious issue of water loss control. This conference brings together the world’s experts and all those who have a need to learn on this topic.
There are approximately 100 technical, scientific and operational oral presentations and a series of poster presentations.
We invite delegates to discover the latest methods of intervention techniques, measurement of best practice performance and assessment actions for greatest benefit in water loss reduction, and to take the opportunity to network with Task Force members and colleagues at the various social functions.
São Paulo is a wonderful choice of location for this conference as the country has many first class case studies and a demonstrated drive towards sustainability for the water industry.
